FAQ
What's the difference between a Headshot Mini and a Branding Mini?
A. Headshot Mini
A headshot session focuses solely on you, capturing your face from the chest up. This session is ideal if you're an actor, a professional updating your LinkedIn profile, or in need of a new photo for your company website. No props are included—just you, looking your best.
Branding Mini Session
A branding session provides more variety, showcasing different compositions and allowing you to incorporate props that represent your brand or creative work. Ideal for entrepreneurs, artists, and creatives looking to update their website, social media, or marketing materials with fresh, dynamic photos.
How early should I be to my session?
A. ARRIVE AT LEAST 20 MINUTES EARLY
Please arrive to the studio at least 20 minutes before your scheduled time slot, especially if you're planning to get a makeup or hair touchup done by the HMUA.
Your time slot is your time slot. If you're late it will eat into the time available.
Can you explain my retouching options?
A. Lauryn's style of editing is about you looking like yourself so they don't tend to lean on doing any extensive retouching. All photos include basic retouching such as removing blemishes, flyaway hairs, and background objects.
Any further retouching beyond is charged for each round of retouching.
When will I get my photos?
A. A online proof gallery of your photos will be delivered with 7-10 days of your session.
From there you will select all the images you'd like to purchase. At that point an invoice for the corresponding photo package will be sent to you. Once that invoice is paid, your chosen photos can take another 7-10 days to be edited and delivered for you to download.
Why doesn't my sitting fee include photos?
A. Marketing Minis are designed to be flexible so you can work within your own budget. That is why the sitting fee is separate from the photo package.
The sitting fee is used to cover the cost of the studio as well as compensate the photographer and the makeup artist and it used to book your session.
The photo packages covers the time editing your selected images and the licensing.
So if you only need 1 or two headshots that's what you'll pay for. If you're looking to step up your marketing game with a bit more variety then you can purchase a 10 photos package. It's what you need.
Please note, larger photos orders may result in a slightly longer turnaround time.
Do mini sessions come with hair and makeup?
A. Yes,but only touchups are included. You need to come to your session as camera ready as possible.
It's Pittsburgh, the land of random wind and rain, so a hair and makeup artist will be on site for for touchups and quick fixes prior to your session. These usually take 10-20 minutes.
Are the photos digital or prints?
A. The final photos that will be delivered to you are high-resolution digital images. However prints can be purchased through your gallery.
Can I hang out after my session is done?
A. Usually yes, depending on the studio.
When sessions are held at Goat Milk Fudge Productions, most definitely. The shooting space is separate from the rest of the studio. You can hang out and meet some of the other attendees and hopefully make some friends. Just don't be disruptive of anyone of other people sessions or makeup work being done.
You will have to leave when the shoot day ends though.
Can I bring a prop or an accessory?
A. Accessories are allowed for both headshots and branding minis. Think hats, glasses, an extra jacket or vest.
Props are only allowed only in branding minis so that we can take full advantage of the vary image compositions.
Do I need to credit you as a photograph?
A. Yes! Whenever possible online and in print need to provide credit as the photography. So whether you use it on the back of a book cover, send it out to publications to run with an article, or you post it on your social media you should tag @ThoseInMotion and/or credit Lauryn Halahurich/Those In Motion. Linking back to the website isn't required but appreciated.
Will I own full copyright of the images?
A. No, the photographer (that’s me!) retains the copyright to all images by default, as is standard in photography. This means I legally own the photos. However, when you book your session, you’ll receive a license that gives you usage rights for personal and professional purposes—like LinkedIn, your website, press, or marketing materials.
If you require full copyright ownership or exclusive rights, that can be arranged for an additional fee—just let me know and we’ll work it out!
How am I allowed to use my photos?
A. While you don't get the copyright of the image, you will be granted a license to use the images.
You can use your photos online for personal branding, social media, email marketing, online portfolios, and editorial content. Agencies or employers may also use them for promotion. Print use is allowed for business cards, marketing materials, presentations, event programs, and personal display.
HOWEVER, you can't use the photos on products for sale or in national media or ads without permission from the photographer.
Can I edit my photos?
A. These are branding photos so I'm expecting you to be using it your marketing in a variety of ways so you are allowed to crop and edit them as needed for your projects. That could including turning it black and white, removing the background, etc.
