Put Your Craft Center Stage

Artist Branding Session

Minimalist room interior with white walls, artwork, and plants.

This session will help you:

  • Build a visual brand that reflects your work and artistic voice.

  • Clearly show your work is made by YOU and not by AI.

  • Feel more confident sharing your work publicly.

  • Stand out when applying for grants, residencies, exhibitions, and galleries.

No performing or pretending.

This session is about you and your process, captured in your own studio space.

The result is less stress on you and honest, process driven images.

The kind of images that stand out to collectors, grant givers, galleries coordinators, and residency panels.

The Process

STEP 01

Book A Discovery Call

Let's hop on a quick 20-minute call to see if we vibe and get an overarching idea of your goals and vision for the session. If we're a good fit, you'll pay the initial retainer fee and I'll send out a questionnaire that will dig deeper into what you, your art, and your space.

STEP 02

Plan & Schedule

Once the questionnaire is complete, we'll hop on a consultation call (or met up in person) to talk more in depth about your strategy, wardrobe, and develop a shot list of the most important images.

STEP 03

Shoot Day Arrives

We'll start the day by tackling the shot list and capturing the more basic imagery you need as an artist.  Think headshots, wide shots of your workspace, branded props or vignettes to help tell your story - before it starts getting messy.

Once the shot list is completed we move to the fun part. For the rest of the session, you do your thing (with prompting from me if needed) and I'll do mine.

STEP 04

Receive Your Gallery

Usually,  within a few weeks of the session, you'll receive a curated gallery of hi-resolution, edited images ready for you to use in your marketing.

STEP 05

Support and Guidance

Along with your photos you'll  receive a branding guide with suggestions on how to best use your images.

Capture the creative chaos of your work.

Every artist has a story to tell. It's my job to help you tell yours so you can do more of the work you love.

I book sessions 4 weeks in advance. Get in touch to start the process.

FAQ

Are travel expenses included?

Travel expenses are included for sessions taking place within 15 miles of downtown Pittsburgh.

Sessions 15-100 miles away are charged at the current IRS mileage rate, usually based on the shortest route shown on Maps. This will be added to your invoice as a line item.

Anything beyond 100 miles may require an additional travel stipend to cover room & board, transportation ticket, etc.

What about hair and makeup?

Do what makes you feel comfortable. I don't require makeup at my sessions. How you want to show up for the session is how we will shoot.

If you want to get hair and makeup done (especially if you plan to get a bit nerdy with it), I recommend work with Morgan McHenry.

Can I use the photos for social media and marketing materials?

Yes!

Branding photos are considered commercial photography which means you will get a license with specific usage rights. The usage rights will be determined by the uses provide during the onboarding process.

Your usage rights will be spelled out in your contract so make sure to read it carefully.

Licenses and usage rights are different than copyright, and odds are you don't actually need the copyright (which will always be more expensive). If you have questions about the difference, send me an email.

When it comes to using your photos, you can edit and crop how you want. That's the joy of commercial photography. Just don't run them through AI programs as that will go against most of my usual licenses.

Is deposit/retainer required to book a session?

Yes, there is non-refundable retainer to book your date that is due at the time of booking. The amount will vary based on the total cost of your session and if you choose any particular add-ons.
