EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY FOR THE FUN, THE FERAL, AND THE SLIGHTLY UNHINGED
If your event involves costumes, creatives, swordfights, or humans gathering around a shared, sometimes nerdy hobby and you want to capture that... you're in the right place.
Because “normal” events aren’t your thing — and they’re not mine either.
I photograph events for the self-proclaimed oddballs:
the artists, the filmmakers, the fantasy-escapists, the gallery hoppers, and the folks who simply refuse to be boring.
If your event has a pulse, stands for something and has a personality, I’m already obsessed.
THE EVENTS I LOVE TO WORK
I can photograph almost anything.
FILM & THEATER PREMIERES
FANTASY BALLS
FILM FESTIVALS

COMMUNITY EVENTS

Turn one event into months of marketing!

Event photos aren’t just meant to be pretty...they’re tools to make your marketing easier.
With impactful photos your work becomes easier to sell, your social media more eye-catching, and your press materials more impactful (and faster to create.)
Good photos give people a reason to come back or get excited about what's you're planning next.

Why Work With Me
My name is Lauryn, I've been photographing events for almost a decade now, it's part of why I chose the name Those In Motion. Because at events, your guests could care less about the camera. But you...you need photos that actually show how epic your event was. Images you can post on social, use in brochures or shows, or send to press.
I create images that make next year’s crowd say, “I need to be there.”
From art exhibitions and film festivals to the mayor’s inaugural ball, I’ve shot in ballrooms, black box theaters, galleries, and rooms so dim you question every life choice. So no matter where you hold your event, I've got you covered.
I'm Not Like Other Photographers
Before photography, I worked in marketing, design, and journalism. That means when I’m shooting your event, I’m not just thinking about what looks cool — I’m naturally thinking about where your images will live and how they'll be used. I even have a habit of shooting wider so you have more flexibility when using your images.
And most importantly...I'm probably just as nerdy as your guests, so your attendees won’t feel judged. They are able to relax and do their thing while I move through the room quietly, capturing the small moments and scenes that show the energy of the event. By the time people see the gallery, they’ll feel like they were living it all over again.

HONEST ANSWERS TO REAL FEARS
“What if my people hate being photographed?”
Totally normal. I shoot candid-first, so your guests usually won't notice I'm there.
“The lighting is… questionable.”
I'm used to shooting in the middle of the night, don't worry. That's what a flash is for.
