Project: 1st Year In Business Celebration
CLIENT: Partners In Grime, LLC
This shoot with Nicole, the owners of Partners In Grime, LLC, was a blast. It's always fun when a small business owner come in with creative idea for a shoot and Nicole's idea was to do a cake smash. And this was a scrappy shoot. Nicole and her friend pulled together the props and the sparkly backdrop. We set up that day in Opay Studios in the South Side of Pittsburgh, using both the cyclorama and their rolling backdrop and a whole lot of confetti.
And yes, the smashing of the cake with the vacuum was my idea.
(Top Tip: When using confetti, make sure to have a cleaner as the client. I now understand why studio don't allow confetti. It was a mess, a fun mess, but a mess. Don't worry, I check with the studio owner the day of because Nicole really wanted the confetti. But it did take a lot of extra time clean up every little speck, but we did it.)
